onyx is associated primarily with the root chakra. it assists with challenges in life, especially those caused by a drain of energy. it prevents the draining away of personal energy and can be used for protection from such. it is excellent for grounding, controlling, or eliminating excess or unwanted energies, and has been used for wound healing and to increase stamina and self-control.
hematite is known as a “stone for the mind”. it brings mental organization and is very grounding and calming. it helps with original thinking, logical thinking, and mathematics. it also decreases negativity and can help balance the body/mind/spirit. physically, hematite has been used to keep the body cool, to decrease blood disorders, nervous problems and insomnia, as well as align the spine and mend broken bones. it is associated with the root (base) chakra, is good for grounding out excess energy, and acts as a stabilizing force.
